Our Goal
Providing you and your child with the tools and skills needed for effective communication is the LIGHT TO OUR FIRE! Our goal is to be action-based in order to achieve the lasting outcomes you desire for your child.
Our Approach
We take a whole team approach and are always happy to collaborate with professionals (e.g. school, doctors, other therapists, etc.) that play an important role in your child’s life. A comprehensive evaluation is required to begin services. An evaluation generally takes between 1 1/2 to 2 hours to assess receptive and expressive language, speech, and oral motor skills. Following the assessment, you will receive a written report detailing our findings, recommendations, and treatment plan, if treatment is warranted. We will likely use a variety of treatment approaches chosen specifically for your child based on their unique level of functioning and individual needs.
If treatment is warranted we will use a combination of exercises in therapy to help improve skills in the following areas:
- Oral Placement Therapy
- Beckman Oral-Motor Treatment Techniques
- Articulation/Phonological Processing Therapy
- Kaufman Speech to Language Protocol for Childhood Apraxia of Speech
- Play-Based Language Therapy
- PROMPT Approach
- Therapy geared specifically towards Gestalt Language Processors
